Mugdock country park!

My favourite place to go to get away from the city is Mugdock country park. I’ve been going since I was young, my dad would take me every Saturday morning for a walk and then at the end we would have to buy the best rice krispie cake you’ll ever have at the café  or the walk just wasn’t worth it.

One of the park's remarkable features is its intricate network of paths, each leading to unique discoveries. One of my favourite walks in the park has nearly everything nature has to offer! Including a pond which is home to a family of ducks, a waterfall, a castle (which u can explore inside sometimes) and then of course the café at the end obviously. With so many different paths the walks can be from 30 minutes to hours and some paths even connect to the west highland way if that’s what you're into.
Another good walk the park has to offer can take you to a hidden gem of the country park, an old ww2 base. This base was once utilised to defend the skies above the Clyde can now be explored by passers-by… and sheep.

There are lots of paths that walk you directly through farm land so expect to bump into a few cows and sheep, sometimes even horses!

Some more practical elements is the many carparks, this adds to this park in my opinion as I never have to stress about getting a space or not. (I can’t parallel park to save myself) All of the carparks are conveniently located directly next to a trail leading into the park. It is not only a great place for avid walkers and dog owners but also for young families as next to one of the main car parks there are toilets and 3 different play parks for all ages.

I would rate this walk a 10/10, it has always been my fave place to go and it never gets boring!!
